Urban Science is a rapidly-growing company that works with most automotive OEMs. The majority of our current business is related to helping clients manage and plan their dealer networks (how many dealers do they need and where, given various inputs?). We are branching into other areas such as lead management and scoring, business management, and dealer operations analysis. Ideal entry-level candidates will have a college degree in a technical field (math, stats, engineering, etc.) and have college-level math skills. MS Excel and Access are used on a daily basis. Programming skills (C#, .NET) and familiarity with SQL are a huge plus. Communication skills are very important and will aid in advancement within the company since many of our positions are client-facing.
I have been with the company for over three years and am really enjoying it. The work is challenging and the people are vibrant and smart. Urban Science turned 30 in 2007 and is headquartered in the Renaissance Center in Detroit with offices in other cities around the world. Total employment is approximately 400 people. In addition to our offices, consultants frequently work at OEM headquarters at least part of the time. I currently work full-time from VW/Audi headquarters in Auburn Hills.
